#Snowpocalypse2, #SnOMG, #Snowmageddon, #Snowoverkill, #Snowoverit!
So yes, the blizzard of 2010 really did give Washington, DC and surrounding areas quite a pounding this past week.
I have to admit that all in all, it has been a lot of fun! I am lucky to live in an apartment that is very Metro accessible and on one of the main roads in DC, so by snow standards, it was easy enough to get around on foot.
It’s amazing how snow makes you feel like a kid again. It has this very cleansing and refreshing quality about it when it first starts to lie on the ground. You go to bed in anticipation of how it will all look the next morning, hoping that school/work will be closed so that you can just go out and play! And play we did! Dupont Circle was the site for two large snowball fights this past week.
The first one on Saturday was attended by thousands of people and that’s the one I went to. It was a whole lot of fun. The atmosphere and comradeship in the Circle that day was such a breath of fresh air from the normal hustle and bustle of the place on a working day where nobody makes eye contact as they rush to their offices. Everyone was so happy and willing to interact with total strangers along with dumping snow all over them. Why couldn’t every day be like that?
Anyway, needless to say, after 7 days of all this stuff, I too am starting to feel that too much of a good thing is not good for anyone! So, come on out sun and melt this stuff away quickly!!! Elmo wants out without getting his fur all wet.

Kat! These photos are fantastic – especially the one with Elmo staring out the window. Looks just like my two girls! Except they couldn’t wait to get outside! I had no idea that there was a party in Dupont Circle, but that just goes to show how removed I am from the cool happenings in the city! Need to move back in, some place close to a metro like you! Fantastic summary of our snowy wonderland!
Here I am in the land of your birth. Yesterday, on the way to Olbia and Sassari we were stranded for two and a half hours with a record snow for Sardinia| 3 cm|Cars, trucks, buses all over the place. Such a laugh for me| All well today. We returned under a splendid sun to Casteddu. Absolutely no traffic. What a wonderful world| da
