I love the fact that social media has been ruffling the feathers of the corporate world. Gone are the days when you could buy your way into convincing people that you are a reputable brand by buying out expensive PR/Ad campaigns.

Many companies and organizations often spend countless hours and money coming up with a perfect, complete, and permanent brand for themselves. The box is then ticked on getting the branding right, and off we go about our business without giving it a second thought. Wrong!

Last Wednesday, Facebook developers in California held their 3rd annual meeting, F8 (pronounced “fate”). A number of announcements were made about changes and new features to the popular social networking site.
Increasingly, I keep coming across people both in the US and now in Northern Ireland who share their experiences with me of sub-par social media presentations and workshops they have been to.

Can’t really vouch for the accuracy of this little app by Gary Hayes at Personalized Media which shows a count of Social Media activity based on various 2008/09 stats, but it is fun to watch.
